A chance meeting and a horse we knew well back in New Zealand had us find this filly that slipped through all the cracks.

Lot 714 brings together Group 1 performance and a highly recognisable female family. She is by Grunt, the Group 1-winning son of O’Reilly whose progeny are earning a reputation for toughness, athleticism and the ability to train on.

The strength of the pedigree sits on the dam side. She is out of Sky Spirit, a daughter of champion sire I Am Invincible, and from the family of Anabandana, the Champion 2YO Filly in New Zealand and Group 1 winner. That combination injects genuine juvenile brilliance and proven sprinting class into the pedigree.

 

The family continues to show activity on the racetrack, with recent winners and placings among close relations, adding current performance and depth to the page.  Progeny from Anabandana include Packing Rockstar, who was a fantstic galloper who we raced a few times with our Sandown Stakes winner Elephant.

 

Physically, this filly is an athletic, well-balanced type with strength and scope, suggesting she has the constitution to handle training while continuing to develop with maturity.

 

Selected from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, she presents as a filly with the pedigree and physical presence to develop into a genuine racehorse. Importantly, the pedigree also offers long-term broodmare appeal through a proven female family.
